Celebrating their 87th annual tournament, the Reading Marbles Tournament is the oldest continually running children's sporting event in the country.
Whitney Wins!!!
Whitney Lapic, Governor Mifflin Middle School, wins the 2009 National Marbles Tournament. This win marks a historical event - the first multigenerational champions with her mother, Debra Stanley-Lapic, the 1973 National Marbles Champion.
Shakira Ortiz, Gateway School for the Performing Arts came in 12th.
Shane Hoover, Jacksonwald Elementary School, came in 20th.
An additional congratulations to Whitney for coming in 3rd place in the 2009 US Marbles Tournament held in Pttsburgh on August 8th and 9th, 2009.
